Accreditations and partner credentials are useful when they help you check the business you are engaging and the scope of its expertise. They are less useful when different kinds of evidence are presented as though they mean the same thing. At MCI Network Services, the relevant distinction is between vendor relationships, individual qualifications and independently certified organisational controls.
Our Cisco and Meraki focus
MCI Network Services is the specialist networking brand operated by Proxar Limited. Our team focuses on Cisco and Meraki network design, deployment, troubleshooting and ongoing management. Proxar’s Cisco partner relationship dates from 2009.
A long-standing relationship is part of our background, not a substitute for checking the current programme status relevant to an engagement. Programme names and entitlements can change. A proposal should identify the legal supplier and any credential material to the work being purchased.
Partner status and individual qualifications
A vendor’s partner programme recognises a relationship with a business. An engineer’s qualification belongs to the individual and has its own requirements and validity. Neither should be presented as though it automatically covers every person, product or service.
When a project needs a particular skill or qualification, raise that requirement during scoping. The proposed delivery team and relevant evidence can then be assessed against the actual work, rather than relying on a generic badge to answer a specific technical question.
Organisational certification
Management-system certificates have a defined holder and scope. A meaningful review considers the legal entity, activities and sites covered, the issuing body, the certificate’s validity and any limitations. A certificate held by a related business does not automatically certify a separately incorporated company.
This page does not assert a particular ISO certificate, certification number or expiry date without the supporting record. Where organisational certification is a procurement requirement, request the current evidence and check that the proposed service falls within its scope.
What credentials do not promise
A credential is not a guarantee that a network cannot fail or be compromised. It also does not replace a clear scope, competent delivery, documented acceptance criteria or agreed support responsibilities.
Services that help a customer collect security evidence or test a network boundary do not automatically certify that customer’s organisation. Any claim concerning ISO 27001, PCI DSS or another assurance framework needs to identify the responsibility being undertaken and who performs the relevant assessment.
Request evidence for your review
Tell us which credential, delivery capability or assurance requirement matters to your organisation. Include the proposed service and any procurement deadline so the right evidence can be considered. Where appropriate, supporting material may be shared under confidentiality arrangements.
