Cookie Policy

Understand the cookies and similar technologies used by MCI Network Services, their purposes, retention periods and the choices available to you.

This Cookie Policy explains browser storage and similar technologies relevant to the MCI Network Services website. These technologies can support a requested function, protect the website or measure its use. Their purpose, not simply their name, determines how they should be handled.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is information stored by a website in your browser. Similar techniques include local storage and technologies that read information from your device. A session cookie normally lasts for the browser session; a persistent cookie has an expiry or remains until it is removed. Browser settings and security tools can affect that behaviour.

Technical information can also be processed without placing a cookie. For example, delivering a page involves handling its network request. Our Privacy Policy explains the handling of personal information associated with website visits and enquiries.

The current website build

The website now includes a cookie-choice banner and consent-controlled Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager loads only after you choose Allow cookies or return with a valid saved acceptance. Google Analytics collection and advertising tags are not enabled by this installation release. The contact form continues to be processed by the website rather than an embedded advertising platform.

WordPress can use cookies for authorised administrative access, and Cloudflare may use browser storage when a particular security feature or challenge is applied. A cookie associated with logging into the administration area is not necessarily set for someone simply reading a public page.

Administrative access

Authorised administrators may receive WordPress cookies that check browser cookie support, maintain authenticated access or remember administration preferences. Names may include a site-specific suffix. Their lifetimes depend on the login options, WordPress configuration and the function concerned.

These administrative functions are separate from visitor profiling. Visitors do not need a WordPress account to read the public information or make a general enquiry. Blocking authentication cookies can prevent an authorised user from signing in or remaining signed in.

Network security and challenges

Cloudflare sits in front of the website to help deliver requests and protect it from abuse. Where its enabled protection requires a browser check, a cookie such as cf_clearance may record successful completion. Whether a cookie is used, and how long it lasts, depends on the protection actually enabled for this website.

We do not assume that every cookie in Cloudflare’s product documentation is active here. The website’s cookie inventory must reflect its own configuration and observed behaviour. Cloudflare publishes further information in its cookie documentation.

Optional technologies and your choices

Our approach is to obtain permission before activating optional analytics or advertising that requires consent. We do not rely on a visitor’s silence, continued browsing or submission of an enquiry as permission for such tracking. Although the law provides specific exceptions, any proposed use must be assessed against the conditions of the relevant exception rather than assumed to qualify.

The banner offers Allow cookies and Reject optional cookies with equal prominence. Allow cookies enables Tag Manager and permits optional analytics. It does not grant permission for advertising storage, advertising user data or advertising personalisation; those signals remain denied. Reject optional cookies keeps Tag Manager blocked. Essential functions remain available either way.

Use Cookie settings in the footer to reopen your choice. If you withdraw after Tag Manager has loaded, the site sends a denied update, attempts to remove accessible first-party Google analytics cookies and reloads the page with Tag Manager blocked. A final consent-update request may occur during withdrawal. Browser settings can also remove stored website data; blocking genuinely necessary cookies may prevent their associated function from working.

Remembering your cookie choice

mci_consent_v1 is a first-party local-storage entry managed by MCI Network Services. It records whether analytics is allowed or denied, the decision timestamp, an expiry timestamp and the notice version. It is used only to remember and enforce your choice, not to identify you for advertising. The choice remains valid for 180 days from your decision; visiting another page does not extend that period. Expired entries are removed when next read. Browser storage can physically remain on an unused device until the site is revisited or you clear it.

If browser storage is unavailable, the choice can apply to the current page only and the site may ask again on the next page. Clearing browser storage also clears the saved choice. Without JavaScript, the consent controls and Tag Manager do not load; the site does not use a tracking iframe as a fallback.

Google Tag Manager

Provider: Google. Purpose: loading and managing optional website tags after permission. Browser request: www.googletagmanager.com/gtm.js. Tag Manager itself is distinct from Analytics and from cookies created by tags within it. Loading it sends standard network-request information to Google. Google says its standard Tag Manager HTTP request logs are deleted within 14 days and explains aggregate diagnostics in its privacy information.

This installation does not configure GA4 measurement cookies such as _ga or _ga_<container-id>. Their actual use, purposes and configured lifetimes will be added to this policy before Analytics collection is enabled. Other optional purposes require their own disclosure and appropriate choices; an analytics acceptance is not permission for unrelated advertising.

Links to other websites

An ordinary link to another website does not make that website’s cookie policy our own. When you choose to follow a link, the destination’s provider is responsible for its technologies and notices. We will review consent requirements separately before adding an embedded video, map, chat service or other component that contacts another provider as part of this website.

Questions and changes

Contact admin@proxar.co.uk with a cookie or privacy question. Please include the affected page and, if possible, the cookie name you are asking about, but do not send its full value or an authentication token. We will review this policy when the site’s features or security configuration change. Last updated on 26 October 2026 for the consent-controlled Tag Manager installation.
