Cisco Wireless Authentication
Integrate Cisco ISE with enterprise wireless for identity-based access, choosing authentication methods and testing real client behaviour.

response time
Average response is not a resolution time or a contractual guarantee. Support scope and response commitments are agreed for each engagement.
Cisco wireless authentication checks who or what is trying to use your business Wi-Fi. We design and test that process across supported Cisco and Meraki systems. The work covers the SSID, client settings, identity checks and access rules. A device joining Wi-Fi is only the first step. It must also reach the right services.
Defined trust
Make access boundaries explicit rather than relying on an assumed internal network.
Controlled access
Connect identity, policy and network enforcement to the services people actually use.
Evidence for change
Test the intended security outcome and retain useful operational records.
Define the population using the SSID
Staff laptops, personal devices, visitors and devices with no signed-in user have different needs. We separate these groups in the design. One shared password may seem simple at first. It makes it harder to trace use or remove access when a person leaves or a device is lost.
We ask who manages the devices, how they are enrolled and which apps they need. Some devices may not support the preferred security method. We identify these early and agree a defined exception. A few specialist devices should not force weaker rules on the main staff SSID.
Standards & partnerships

Choose methods that clients can validate
The client’s Wi-Fi software, the network and the identity service must support the same method. We check the EAP methods and certificate needs for the actual device types and operating systems. Support on the controller alone is not enough. Each laptop or handheld device also needs a suitable, correctly set up client.
The client must check that it is talking to the right identity service. Users should not have to accept an unfamiliar certificate just to connect. We work with the endpoint team to set trusted issuers, expected server names and Wi-Fi profiles. Turning off these checks can defeat the protection the design is meant to provide.
A useful starting point
Not sure where to start?
Bring the requirement. We will help you define the engineering work.
Connect authentication to the correct network policy
A valid user or device must receive the right access. We define the group, VLAN or other supported policy for each class of device and user. Each site must enforce that result. A rule that works at head office can fail at a branch with different switch or gateway settings.
We test what happens after the identity check. That includes IP addressing, DNS and business apps, as well as denied and restricted access. A successful RADIUS exchange does not prove that the whole design works. A user who can browse the web may still have been placed on the wrong network.
Different environments. The same care.
Built around the work
your network supports.
Finance, banking and the wider private sector. We start with the systems and people that depend on your connections.
Finance & banking
Market-data paths, routing and provider coordination on clients’ behalf.
Financial-market services ↗Offices & multi-site teams
Reliable access between people, workplaces and business applications.
Office network design ↗Data centres & cloud
Network boundaries, workload connections and operational ownership.
Data centre networks ↗Consider roaming and repeated connections
Moving between access points is different from joining Wi-Fi for the first time. Waking a laptop or returning after a long break can also trigger different checks. We review the selected roaming features, identity service and client support together. We do not assume that every device supports the same way to speed up roaming.
The pilot includes repeated joins and fresh identity checks. Voice calls and remote sessions help reveal short breaks that a web page may hide. We record the device model, software version and movement used in each test. That lets the team repeat the test and understand the limits of the result.
Plan identity-service outages and recovery
The Wi-Fi service relies on more than an access point or controller. Certificates, DNS, time services, the directory and the policy server may all affect a login. We map these links. We then agree which failures need a backup path and which need a restricted recovery process.
A session already in use may behave differently from a new login during an outage. We test both, along with recovery when the service returns. If an emergency SSID or shared key is needed, its use must be controlled. We agree who receives it and when it will be removed.
Diagnose the stage that failed
A reported password fault may start elsewhere. We check each stage: joining the radio network, agreeing security settings, proving identity, granting access and reaching IP services. Client and server evidence helps locate the failure. It may be an expired certificate, a wrong policy or a service that the client cannot reach.
We avoid repeated account changes or weaker access rules without evidence of the cause. We record the time, client and selected policy, then test the fix on the affected device type. Identity details and traces use an agreed secure transfer route. They should not be sent through a public enquiry form.
Scope the right implementation
A new rollout can cover SSID design, Cisco ISE, endpoint profiles, a pilot and handover. An existing network may need only a focused review or fault investigation. In either case, we make three things clear: how identity is checked, what access follows and who supports the service. Your team should be able to use that record after the project ends.
