Dedicated Network Operations Centre
Assess a dedicated NOC arrangement for a Cisco or Meraki estate, specifying staffing coverage, tools, escalation and the work included in the service.

Average
response time
Average response is not a resolution time or a contractual guarantee. Support scope and response commitments are agreed for each engagement.
A dedicated Network Operations Centre can align people and processes closely with one customer’s network. We help define the Cisco and Meraki scope, staffing needs and links to your own systems. The delivery model must be agreed before coverage is promised. A dedicated service means a real resource commitment, beyond a dashboard with your name on it.
Useful visibility
Monitor service-relevant conditions rather than collecting alerts without ownership.
Controlled change
Keep maintenance, automation and configuration work reviewable and recoverable.
Clear escalation
Connect incidents to the right engineering, provider and business contacts.
Define what must be dedicated
Customers may require dedicated operators, specialist escalation, separate tooling, a defined service lead or a combination of these. We distinguish those needs rather than assuming the same model suits every estate. The proposal should identify which resources are reserved and which functions still rely on shared expertise or external providers.
The reason for dedication matters. Regulatory oversight, complex apps, change volume or operational integration may justify a closely aligned team. A smaller estate may instead benefit from a shared NOC with strong specialist escalation. We compare the work and obligations rather than treating the more expensive label as automatically the better service.

Establish the network and service boundaries
The inventory identifies sites, devices, circuits, platforms and important business paths. Cisco campus networks, Meraki branches and data-centre fabrics can require different skills and diagnostic methods. The service definition states which are included and which dependencies remain with customer, carrier, cloud or app teams.
Security operations and user support have their own scope. The NOC may work with those teams without providing threat hunting, endpoint response or app administration. These boundaries are stated clearly. Being available around the clock does not make the NOC the owner of every type of incident.
A useful starting point
Tell us what is happening.
A short description of the problem is enough for an initial discussion.
Specify staffing and coverage realistically
Coverage requires a defined rota, skills mix, escalation depth and arrangements for absence. We distinguish monitoring, triage, engineering investigation and change execution, because they do not necessarily require the same personnel at every hour. Any proposed round-the-clock service must be supported by an agreed delivery plan.
The customer also needs to understand how peaks are handled. A major incident can generate simultaneous diagnostic, communication and coordination work. The operating model states how extra expertise is engaged and what service commitments apply, rather than assuming one dedicated operator can perform every role at once.
Different environments. The same care.

Data centre networks ↗Integrate tools and information securely
The NOC needs access to monitoring, ticketing, records of the settings and relevant change schedules. We assess supported integrations, account roles and the data shared between systems. Customer information should remain appropriately separated and protected, particularly where any underlying tooling serves more than one organisation.
Integration is tested at the workflow level. An alert arriving in a ticketing queue does not prove that ownership, severity and escalation fields are correct. We check the information an operator needs to act and identify how the process continues if an integration or identity service becomes unavailable.
Build procedures around the actual estate
Runbooks cover important failure modes, safe initial checks, evidence collection and escalation. They reflect the customer’s topology and app dependencies rather than a library of generic troubleshooting instructions. The process identifies which actions are pre-authorised and which require a customer or specialist decision.
Change management is connected to the same operational record. Planned work, temporary exceptions and emergency corrections must remain visible to the NOC. A dedicated team cannot provide dependable oversight if another team makes significant changes without notifying it or recording the resulting state.
Agree measures and governance
Reporting defines availability, response measures, backlog and recurring technical risks with clear calculation rules. The customer should be able to distinguish a change in measurement from a genuine improvement in service. Reviews identify actions and owners rather than relying on a large volume of operational statistics.
Service reviews also cover changes, access rights, performance concerns and the eventual exit plan. The customer should keep ownership of the relevant records and be able to move to another arrangement in an orderly way. A dedicated service has defined duties. It should not make the network depend on knowledge that only the supplier can access.
Assess the model before committing
MCI can help assess and scope a dedicated NOC need for a Cisco or Meraki estate, including transition, procedures and specialist engineering duties. Staffing, hours, location, tools and commercial terms are confirmed in the proposal. This page does not claim that every dedicated arrangement is already available in a fixed standard form.
For a discussion, provide the estate scale, current incident workload and the reason a shared service would not meet your needs. We can compare a dedicated model with shared NOC services and develop an operating specification grounded in the work your organisation actually requires.
