Aruba wireless integration connects an existing Aruba wireless environment to the Cisco or Meraki network around it. MCI helps define the wired handoff, addressing, security boundaries and operational responsibilities needed for users to reach their applications. The service is particularly useful when the wireless platform is being retained during a wider network refresh or site integration.
A wireless problem is not always a radio problem, and a wired upgrade is not automatically independent of wireless service. We examine the dependencies between the two so that changes to switching, routing or security do not overlook how wireless clients are authenticated and connected.
A clear requirement
Turn the business need into a practical network scope with visible dependencies.
A controlled delivery
Plan implementation, testing and rollback before production changes begin.
A supportable result
Leave useful records, ownership and escalation routes behind.
Understand how the wireless service is delivered
We establish the Aruba platform and management arrangement, the sites involved and the path taken by client traffic. The design may rely on local or central components, but the actual deployment must be verified rather than inferred from the vendor name.
The wired network needs to support the intended handoff, management access and application paths. We also identify which team owns wireless configuration, identity services and the supporting network.
Where documentation is incomplete, the scope can include discovery of the relevant dependencies. A connection that appears to be a simple access-point uplink may support several logically separate services that need to remain distinct.

Keep client groups and policies aligned
Staff, guests and operational devices may need different access. We review how those groups are represented across wireless settings, addressing and the surrounding security controls.
The objective is consistent behaviour at the boundary. A guest service should not gain unintended access after a switch replacement, and a business client should not lose its authorised application path because the wired and wireless teams assumed different settings.
Identity-related changes require coordination with the team responsible for authentication. We assess the network contribution and agreed integration rather than claim that every access problem can be solved within the wireless platform alone.
A useful starting point
Not sure where to start?
Bring the requirement. We will help you define the engineering work.
Check the physical and operational dependencies
Access-point connections depend on suitable ports, cabling and power arrangements. We review the actual hardware requirements and proposed switch configuration before a rollout or replacement.
Maintenance also needs coordination. A wired change can affect wireless management or client traffic even when no wireless settings are deliberately altered. The test plan should therefore include relevant wireless users and services.
If the concern is coverage or capacity within the building, wireless network services provide the broader route. This integration page focuses on the connection between systems, not an assumed replacement for a properly scoped wireless assessment.
Different environments. The same care.
Built around the work
your network supports.
Finance, banking and the wider private sector. We start with the systems and people that depend on your connections.
Finance & banking
Market-data paths, routing and provider coordination on clients’ behalf.
Financial-market services ↗Offices & multi-site teams
Reliable access between people, workplaces and business applications.
Office network design ↗Data centres & cloud
Network boundaries, workload connections and operational ownership.
Data centre networks ↗Test with representative clients
A successful test should follow the client journey from joining the intended service to reaching the required application. It should also confirm that relevant restrictions remain effective.
Different device types or authentication methods may need separate examples. Testing only one engineer’s laptop can leave important parts of the actual user population unexamined.
We agree how roaming, reconnecting and recovery conditions will be assessed where they are relevant and safe to test. Results should state the conditions observed rather than imply performance guarantees across an untested building or device estate.
Plan coexistence or migration deliberately
Retaining Aruba wireless may be the most sensible choice for a particular site. Alternatively, the mixed environment may be a temporary step towards a later Cisco or Meraki migration.
Either arrangement needs a clear operating model. We document where the systems meet, what remains with the wireless owner and which changes require coordination across teams.
Describe the retained platform and planned network change through our enquiry page. MCI’s Cisco and Meraki network services can then be scoped around the surrounding infrastructure while the wireless integration receives the attention it needs.
Aruba wireless integration questions
Must we replace Aruba access points to use Cisco switching?
Not automatically. Suitability depends on the equipment, requirements and supported configuration. We assess the intended connection and dependencies rather than recommend wholesale replacement solely because the platforms come from different vendors.
Can you work with our existing wireless specialist?
Yes. Joint delivery can be appropriate where that specialist retains wireless ownership. We agree the handoff, test responsibilities and change sequence so each team understands how its work affects the shared service.
Does this include a wireless site survey?
Only where that work is explicitly included. Integration checks and a coverage or capacity survey answer different questions. We identify when a survey is necessary rather than imply that a wired handoff review proves wireless performance throughout the site.
Can you investigate clients that connect but cannot work?
Yes, within an agreed investigation. We distinguish association, authentication, addressing and application access, then follow the evidence across the relevant systems. Performance troubleshooting may be useful where the symptom extends beyond the initial connection.
