Financial market network connectivity brings specialist network engineering to the links between your business, market-data providers and other financial counterparties. MCI works on the client-side Cisco infrastructure and related network boundaries that support those connections. We help coordinate the technical detail so an external service becomes a documented, testable part of your environment rather than an isolated supplier handoff.

Our engineers work with CME and ICE on a daily basis on behalf of several clients. This is practical experience with clients’ market-data requirements and provider coordination, not a claim that CME or ICE are MCI customers, partners or endorsers.

Resilience that can be tested

Separate a second circuit from genuine end-to-end service resilience.

Provider coordination

Keep addressing, routing and escalation ownership clear across organisations.

Separate the service from the connection

Market data, order connectivity and access to a third-party application are different requirements. They may share parts of the network, but their technical specifications, permissions and operational owners need to be identified separately.

We start with the service your client agreement actually provides and the intended receiving or connecting systems. Provider instructions and authorised technical contacts establish the boundary for the networking work.

Network connectivity does not grant market-data entitlements, redistribution rights or permission to trade. Those remain matters for the client and the relevant provider, alongside any other applicable agreements.

Build a clear account of each handoff

The design records where provider responsibility ends and the client network begins. Physical connections, address ownership, route exchange and required security controls should be understood by the teams on both sides.

Where several providers or facilities are involved, we identify the sequence of dependencies. A working cross-connect does not by itself prove that routing, feed access and the receiving application are ready.

For provider-specific work, CME market-data connectivity and ICE market-data connectivity give a focused route into the respective client-side requirements. The actual subscribed service determines the detailed design.

Match the client network to the operational need

Some environments need advanced routing, controlled multicast distribution or separate paths for important feeds. Others need a simpler connection that still has clear ownership and reliable testing.

We assess the requirement rather than assume that every financial client needs the same low-latency architecture. Performance objectives should identify measurement points and application expectations before a design is described as suitable.

Multicast for financial market data addresses distribution where that transport is part of the service. It should not be read as a claim that every provider product or every financial application uses multicast.

Coordinate change around the business calendar

Financial firms may have restricted maintenance windows and important periods when changes are particularly undesirable. Those constraints should be supplied explicitly and agreed with the participating teams.

We prepare the network changes, dependencies, acceptance tests and rollback decision. The plan identifies who can confirm the provider side and who can verify the client’s application result.

An apparently minor change can still affect a critical path. Adding a route, changing an interface or moving a receiver therefore needs a controlled scope rather than being treated as routine solely because the configuration is short.

Make incidents easier to investigate

An operating record should identify the connection, contacts, expected paths and useful evidence sources. This helps your team raise a precise issue with a provider instead of beginning each incident with an unfamiliar diagram.

We distinguish network observations from application and provider findings. If the evidence does not establish the cause, the next test is made explicit rather than assigning responsibility to whichever organisation controls the least visible part of the path.

For ongoing assistance, the support agreement should state coverage hours, escalation and the engineering work included. Financial-market involvement alone does not imply a universal 24/7 response or a particular service-restoration commitment.

Questions from financial firms

Can you work on behalf of our internal IT team?

Yes. We can act as a defined technical workstream and coordinate with providers where your authority and the service scope permit it. Your organisation retains the contractual relationships and any permissions that cannot be delegated through an engineering engagement.

Are these services only for large trading firms?

No. A smaller organisation can have demanding connectivity requirements. The relevant factors are the services, platforms and operating constraints, not an arbitrary staff threshold. We scope the engineering around the complexity of the actual environment.

Can you provide a connection directly from an exchange?

We can assist with client-side planning and provider coordination, but this page does not offer exchange access rights or imply that MCI operates the exchange service. Availability, eligibility and commercial arrangements must be confirmed with the relevant provider.

Do you support firms outside London?

Yes. Our Cisco and Meraki network services cover the UK, with particular focus on London, Kent, Sussex, Essex and Berkshire. Use our contact page to describe the locations and providers involved; the delivery model is agreed for the actual requirement.
