response time

Average response is not a resolution time or a contractual guarantee. Support scope and response commitments are agreed for each engagement.

CME market data connectivity needs the client’s network to fit the specific feed service in use. We plan, build and support that client-side boundary and coordinate with provider contacts on the client’s behalf. Tests gather evidence that the agreed connection works. The scope covers network engineering, not the sale of market-data rights or provider endorsement.

We work with CME on a daily basis for clients using its market-data services. That operational involvement helps us ask the right questions about handoffs, changes and testing, while keeping the client’s contractual relationship with CME clearly separate from our engineering role.

Confirm the CME service before selecting a design

CME publishes different network access options for production and test setups. The option appropriate to a particular service must be established with the provider rather than chosen solely from a general description of CME network access.

We find the client’s subscribed service, setup and technical specification. Market-data delivery should not be confused with order-entry or clearing network access simply because some infrastructure or terminology overlaps.

The project also records the intended receiving systems and the people authorised to check them. A network engineer can confirm observations at a handoff without being the person who decides whether the app is consuming the correct data.

Prepare the client side of the handoff

We review the agreed physical or logical connection, relevant addressing and the routing or distribution needs supplied for the service. The surrounding Cisco setup needs a clear path from that boundary to the authorised receivers.

Where a facility or carrier participates in the connection, its duties and lead times form part of the plan. Equipment readiness, cross-connect work and provider activation should be coordinated rather than treated as independent tasks that will somehow align on the day.

Security controls must reflect the required access without opening unnecessary paths. The design records the approved boundary and identifies which changes require client or provider authorisation.

Keep test and production work distinct

A test setup is useful for checking an agreed aspect of the connection or app. But it should not be assumed to reproduce every production condition. We state what the test can establish and which checks remain necessary before production use.

Configuration and addressing records should make the setup distinction obvious. That reduces the risk of a test setting being copied into a live service without the required review.

The rollout plan identifies the production readiness decision, the participating contacts and the criteria for proceeding. Successful network reachability alone is not enough where the provider or app requires extra validation.

Review feed paths and recovery requirements

Where the chosen service provides separate feeds or paths, we review how they are carried through the client setup. The aim is to preserve the intended design rather than introduce an unnoticed common dependency after the provider handoff.

The receiving app may have its own feed-handling and recovery behaviour. We coordinate tests with its owner instead of assuming a network path change proves complete app recovery.

For multicast-based delivery, financial-market multicast services can examine membership, forwarding and receiver paths in detail. This is scoped to the actual feed specification, not applied indiscriminately to every CME service.

Support operational change with useful evidence

Provider notices, client changes and app releases can each affect the connection. A maintained operating record helps your team assess what needs attention and which party must be involved.

When an incident occurs, we establish the affected service, timestamps and observations from the client boundary. Evidence is shared through agreed channels so that the provider discussion is specific and sensitive setup or capture data is not distributed unnecessarily.

For the wider setup, financial-market network connectivity brings together other provider links and client network dependencies. CME-specific work remains tied to the relevant service and authorised contacts.

CME connectivity questions

Does MCI sell or license CME market data?

This service is client-side network engineering and provider coordination. It does not grant market-data access, usage or redistribution rights. The client must establish the necessary arrangements with CME and any other relevant service provider.

Can you work with a connection we already use?

Yes, where access and scope are agreed. We can review the current arrangement, investigate a problem or plan a change. Existing specifications and operating records are valuable, but their accuracy should be checked against the live setup.

Do you publish fixed latency or loss guarantees?

No unsupported performance guarantee is made. Requirements need defined measurement points, conditions and duties. We can assess and test the client-side design within scope, but cannot promise the behaviour of every provider, app or external path.

What should we provide for an initial discussion?

Use our enquiry page to outline the CME service, locations and purpose of the work. Do not send credentials or confidential feed details publicly. We can establish an approved route for the technical information needed to scope the engagement.
