Meraki wireless services cover the radio design and the complete path from a device to its apps. We help install, improve and support Wi-Fi around the building and the clients using it. Coverage, identity checks, addresses and upstream access all matter. Dashboard helps with management, while the site still needs a sound design and working support process.

Coverage and capacity

Design Wi-Fi around the spaces, devices and traffic that depend on it.

02

Secure access

Align authentication, segmentation and guest access with the wider network.

03

Measured performance

Validate roaming, interference and user experience instead of relying on signal bars.

Choose the right starting point for your requirement

A new office needs a design and installation plan. An inherited estate may first need an assessment of setup, ownership and recurring faults. A business opening several branches may need a repeatable baseline with controlled local exceptions. We distinguish these needs before proposing work. So the customer receives the service it needs rather than a standard equipment replacement regardless of the problem.

We also ask which team will operate the network afterwards. Some customers want specialist assistance for projects while retaining daily management; others need a defined ongoing support arrangement. Access, change approval, incident escalation and service hours are agreed clearly. The management platform’s availability does not prove the response commitments of the people supporting it.

Design for the building and its clients

Coverage and capacity are assessed against floor plans, occupancy and the devices used. A busy meeting room or moving handheld requires different treatment from a lightly used office area. We select supported access points and mounting arrangements based on those needs, with survey work where appropriate. Replacing old hardware in the same locations without review can preserve the weaknesses of the original design.

The client population influences band use, security and roaming options. We identify legacy or specialist devices that may need a different approach and test the relevant combinations. A feature advertised by an access point is not automatically available to every connected endpoint. The design records these dependencies so future upgrades can be assessed without rediscovering the entire compatibility picture.

Keep SSIDs and access policy purposeful

We set out the wireless services around user and device needs rather than creating a separate SSID for every department. Authentication, VLAN assignment and policy can provide useful distinctions where supported, while excessive service names add admin and radio overhead. Our Meraki SSID design work explains how the proposed service set maps to actual access needs.

Guest and corporate access are considered separately, including the path to the internet and shared resources. A guest portal is not the same as network isolation, and an accepted login is not proof that a client receives the right permissions. We test the intended access and the paths that should remain unavailable, using the exact forwarding and policy arrangement chosen for the site.

Integrate the wired and management foundations

Access points need reliable power, uplinks and management network access. We review switch ports, VLANs, DHCP, DNS and any identity-service dependencies. These checks matter because a wireless symptom can originate elsewhere in the network. A client showing a strong signal may still fail to get an address or reach an app because the upstream setup is wrong.

Dashboard organisation and access are also part of delivery. We establish customer ownership, appropriate administrator roles, naming and alert destinations. Where templates or automation are used, the design identifies their authority and local exceptions. This keeps the estate manageable across sites without allowing a convenient central change to alter every branch unexpectedly.

Commission with evidence from real workflows

A rollout is checked through representative connection and app tests, not only device status. We check the relevant client types, authentication methods and mobility routes. The acceptance record identifies the setup and conditions tested, including any areas that require further observation after occupation or during a busier operating period.

For a current estate, optimisation follows the evidence. We separate RF problems from addressing, authentication and application-path issues, then make controlled changes with a defined comparison. Broad adjustments to power, channel width and security at the same time can make it impossible to know what improved the service. A useful remediation plan explains the hypothesis behind each change.

Maintain a network that can evolve

Ongoing operation includes software review, capacity monitoring, records of the settings and a process for new devices or apps. We confirm who responds to alerts and how changes are approved. The network should remain understandable when a different engineer takes over, with documentation that connects dashboard objects to real sites, users and service dependencies.

MCI provides Cisco and Meraki network services throughout the UK, particularly London, Kent, Sussex, Essex and Berkshire. We can deliver Meraki wireless deployment, focused troubleshooting or a defined support scope. Share the site layout, client types and business need so the proposal addresses the service you need rather than treating cloud management as a substitute for wireless engineering.
