response time
Average response is not a resolution time or a contractual guarantee. Support scope and response commitments are agreed for each engagement.
Network operations keeps a working network understandable, maintained and ready for the next incident or change. MCI provides Cisco and Meraki operational services around monitoring, management, lifecycle work and engineering response. The useful outcome is clear responsibility for the environment, not a dashboard full of alerts without anyone knowing what happens next.
Some organisations want to retain day-to-day control and add specialist assistance. Others need a defined management service for selected sites or platforms. We start with that operating requirement and distinguish the work included from the responsibilities that remain with your team or another supplier.
Useful visibility
Monitor service-relevant conditions rather than collecting alerts without ownership.
Controlled change
Keep maintenance, automation and configuration work reviewable and recoverable.
Clear escalation
Connect incidents to the right engineering, provider and business contacts.
Choose a management model that reflects ownership
Managed networks can bring several operational activities into one scope, but equipment ownership still matters. Managing a network you own is different from providing a solution that includes provider-supplied equipment.
The agreement should identify covered assets, licences, service hours and change responsibilities. It should also explain what happens when equipment fails, the estate grows or the arrangement ends.
Co-managed working can be appropriate where your team wants to retain control while delegating particular activities. The split needs to be explicit enough that an incident does not reveal an important task both parties assumed the other owned.
Standards & partnerships
Confidence in the team behind your network.

Define what the NOC actually does
A network operations centre service needs more than a monitoring tool. Its scope should explain which events are reviewed, how incidents are prioritised and when an engineer or another provider is engaged.
Monitoring coverage and engineering response are separate commitments. The presence of continuous data collection does not automatically establish round-the-clock staffing or a particular restoration target.
We help define the service around the sites and applications that matter to your business. Coverage hours, escalation routes and reporting must be agreed rather than inferred from the term NOC alone.
A useful starting point
Tell us what is happening.
A short description of the problem is enough for an initial discussion.
Collect information that supports action
Network monitoring and telemetry should help identify relevant changes and investigate problems. A large number of collected metrics is not the same as a useful operational view.
We relate monitoring to devices, paths and applications, then consider thresholds and escalation in the context of normal behaviour. An alert should have an owner and a reason for the response it triggers.
Cisco ThousandEyes can be assessed where additional visibility across relevant application or network paths would be useful. Deployment and interpretation need a defined purpose, appropriate access and a realistic understanding of what the observations can establish.
Different environments. The same care.
Built around the work
your network supports.
Finance, banking and the wider private sector. We start with the systems and people that depend on your connections.
Finance & banking
Market-data paths, routing and provider coordination on clients’ behalf.
Financial-market services ↗Offices & multi-site teams
Reliable access between people, workplaces and business applications.
Office network design ↗Data centres & cloud
Network boundaries, workload connections and operational ownership.
Data centre networks ↗Automate controlled work, not unexamined assumptions
Network automation can reduce repetitive effort when the intended state and change rules are clear. It can also repeat a mistake efficiently if those foundations are missing.
We establish scope, access and validation before introducing an automated workflow. The design should explain how failures are handled and how an engineer can understand what the automation changed.
A practical starting point may be a well-defined task with measurable benefits. There is no requirement to automate every operational activity before gaining useful consistency in documentation, configuration checks or routine work.
Keep the environment ready for future change
Network lifecycle management considers software, support, licences and planned renewal in the context of the actual estate. Current product-specific information should inform decisions rather than a broad assumption about equipment age.
Network operational assurance examines whether the records, controls and recovery arrangements support the service you expect to run. It is a way to identify evidence gaps and improvement priorities, not a substitute for independent certification.
Together, these activities connect everyday support to a longer-term plan. The objective is to reduce avoidable surprises without promising that monitoring or maintenance can prevent every incident.
Network operations questions
Can you manage only part of our network?
Yes, where the boundary is practical and clearly agreed. A defined set of sites, platforms or activities can be placed within scope. Shared dependencies and escalation responsibilities need attention so partial management does not create gaps in the wider service.
Is 24/7 support included automatically?
No. The agreement must state the coverage and response model. Monitoring, alert review, remote intervention and on-site attendance are different activities. Their availability should be explicit rather than implied by a general managed-service description.
Can you work with our existing service desk?
Yes. We can align a network workstream with your incident and change processes. The arrangement should identify who communicates with users, who authorises changes and when technical cases move between teams, so responsibility remains clear during a difficult incident.
How do we compare an operational proposal fairly?
Compare scope, ownership, coverage, access, reporting and exclusions alongside price. Use our contact page to describe the estate and current gaps. We can then define Cisco and Meraki network services around the work you actually need managed.
