response time
Average response is not a resolution time or a contractual guarantee. Support scope and response commitments are agreed for each engagement.
Wi-Fi multi-link operation, or MLO, lets supported Wi-Fi 7 devices coordinate more than one radio link. The available mode depends on both the access point and the client. We test supported Cisco and Meraki setups against real app behaviour and security needs. Measurements show which links were used and whether they delivered a useful benefit.
Coverage and capacity
Design Wi-Fi around the spaces, devices and traffic that depend on it.
Secure access
Align authentication, segmentation and guest access with the wider network.
Measured performance
Validate roaming, interference and user experience instead of relying on signal bars.
Define the reason for evaluating MLO
A customer may be interested in throughput, responsiveness or more flexible use of available radio conditions. Those aims need different tests. We establish which app or user experience should improve and compare it with the current baseline. A laboratory transfer between two nearby devices is not necessarily representative of cloud collaboration, roaming voice or a crowded office at peak demand.
We also identify where the potential benefit is relevant. Some users may have suitable current clients, while much of the estate remains on older wireless generations. The assessment can therefore focus on chosen groups or spaces rather than assuming every access point and endpoint must change immediately. The business case should explain who benefits, what prerequisites are needed and how the outcome will be measured.

Check the complete feature combination
MLO is not one identical behaviour across every Wi-Fi 7 product. Supported link combinations and operating modes depend on hardware, firmware, client radio design and driver support. We check the relevant capabilities for the proposed Cisco or Meraki access point and the representative endpoint, using current documentation for that combination. The generic wireless standard is not treated as a rollout guarantee.
Client operating-system setup can matter and the wireless adapter. We record the versions used during testing and identify any vendor prerequisites or limitations. A device may connect successfully without using the expected MLO capability. Acceptance therefore includes evidence of the negotiated connection, rather than inferring feature use from a product label or from the presence of more than one radio in the access point.
A useful starting point

Bring the requirement. We will help you define the engineering work.
Align security and spectrum requirements
The wireless security mode must support the intended feature and client population. We review the configured authentication and encryption needs, certificate dependencies where relevant, and the treatment of devices that cannot join the new service. Compatibility should be planned deliberately rather than resolved by weakening security settings until one test client connects.
Available bands and channels are also checked for the rollout location. A link arrangement shown under another country’s spectrum rules may not be a supported UK setup. We assess the permitted operating mode and the actual channel plan, including contention from surrounding cells. The 6 GHz planning service addresses those local design questions where the newer band is part of the proposed connection.

Data centre networks ↗Measure application behaviour, not only rates
A useful test compares the same app under controlled conditions, with the relevant connection state recorded. We examine latency, loss, throughput or session behaviour according to the business need. The test should distinguish an MLO effect from a change in channel width, signal conditions or wired-network capacity. Otherwise an apparent improvement may be attributed to the wrong part of the upgrade.
We include realistic competition for airtime where practical. A single client in a quiet room can behave very differently from several active users in a meeting space. The assessment records the limits of the test setup and avoids extrapolating a best-case measurement into a universal performance promise. Client power behaviour and mobility may also need separate observation when they are important to the intended use.
Investigate mismatches methodically
When the expected links are not used, we check client capability, security, firmware and radio availability before changing several unrelated settings. Dashboard or controller telemetry is compared with endpoint evidence. Where the tools expose only part of the connection state, that limitation is documented rather than filled with an assumption about what the client must be doing.
Any diagnostic capture or detailed client log is collected with authorisation and an appropriate scope. The investigation should answer a specific question, such as whether the client negotiated the intended mode or changed its link use during a problem. We avoid gathering broad user traffic merely because a new feature is unfamiliar. The resulting evidence can support a precise vendor escalation when the issue lies beyond configurable policy.
Decide what to deploy and support
The outcome may be a recommendation to enable the supported feature for a tested population, to update a client dependency or to defer wider use until a limitation is resolved. That is more useful than assuming that every new capability should be activated across the estate immediately. Exceptions and future review conditions are included in the handover.
MCI can incorporate this assessment into wireless client compatibility testing or a wider Wi-Fi 7 project. Provide the target client models, current wireless platform and the app problem you want to address. We will define a testable scope and explain the observed result without confusing a theoretical radio capability with a guaranteed business outcome.
