ThousandEyes Meraki Integration
Assess supported ThousandEyes integration with Meraki networks, validating device eligibility, entitlements and the measurements needed for branch visibility.

response time
Average response is not a resolution time or a contractual guarantee. Support scope and response commitments are agreed for each engagement.
ThousandEyes Meraki integration adds supported path or service measurements to a Meraki network. We check the devices, software and licences against the functions you need. An embedded agent and other forms of shared data do different jobs. The design states which approach applies, without assuming that every Meraki device supports the same features.
Useful visibility
Monitor service-relevant conditions rather than collecting alerts without ownership.
Controlled change
Keep maintenance, automation and configuration work reviewable and recoverable.
Clear escalation
Connect incidents to the right engineering, provider and business contacts.
Define the branch-visibility problem
We start with the sites, apps and incidents the integration should help explain. A customer may need to compare internet exits, investigate SaaS performance or separate a local network issue from a provider path problem. Each question determines which observations and test locations are useful.
Existing dashboard information is reviewed before adding another measurement layer. The integration should close an identified gap rather than produce duplicate alerts without improving investigation. We record what the Meraki view already shows and which extra evidence ThousandEyes is expected to provide.

Verify device and entitlement eligibility
For embedded rollouts, we check the exact Meraki MX model, firmware, available resources and supported integration needs. Licensing for agent installation and test rollout can differ. So the actual entitlements are confirmed rather than inferred from a broad licence name or another customer’s setup.
We also check the supported test types and limits of the chosen rollout. A device-hosted agent should not be assumed to offer every feature available in another Enterprise Agent form factor. The design records those limitations and proposes an alternative vantage point where the required test cannot be supported on the appliance. That alternative also needs an identified hosting and maintenance owner.
A useful starting point
Tell us what is happening.
A short description of the problem is enough for an initial discussion.
Keep integration types distinct
Agent hosting provides a place from which supported tests run. Data enrichment can add relevant Meraki context to a ThousandEyes view through a separate supported integration. These functions have different access and setup needs, and one should not be described as automatically enabling the other.
We find the accounts, organisations and permissions involved in each part. The customer retains clear ownership of both platforms, and any API or registration credentials are protected. Access is limited to the agreed function rather than granted broadly merely to make an integration test succeed.
Different environments. The same care.

Data centre networks ↗Confirm the path represented by the agent
An agent hosted on an MX observes traffic from that appliance’s supported execution setup. It does not necessarily reproduce every endpoint’s wireless conditions, authentication state or local app behaviour. We document what its measurements can represent and where another test location or endpoint evidence is needed.
Routing, uplink choice and security policy are reviewed with the intended tests. A result must be interpreted according to the path actually used, not an assumption that it followed the same route as every user session. Changes to the branch design should therefore trigger a review of the monitoring assumptions.
Test high-availability and collection behaviour
The integration’s behaviour during MX failover is checked against the supported design. Agent availability and measurement continuity may change during a transition even when network forwarding recovers. We explain that distinction and avoid promising uninterrupted test data simply because the appliance pair provides a resilient network arrangement.
Acceptance includes agent registration, test results, useful dashboard context and collection-health handling. Where safe, a controlled scenario confirms how the monitoring reports loss and restoration. Untested conditions remain documented limitations rather than inferred proof of resilience.
Connect alerts to an operational owner
ThousandEyes findings and Meraki events should reach a coherent response process. We agree which system creates an incident, what context is attached and how duplicate symptoms are handled. A service failure should not result in two unrelated tickets with neither team responsible for the combined investigation.
The response model distinguishes local network work, carrier escalation and application-owner involvement. Measurements can provide evidence for those conversations. But they do not on their own establish fault ownership or change a provider’s repair commitment. Engineers still need to test the likely explanation against the wider service path.
Maintain the integration as both platforms change
Firmware, entitlement, account and API changes can affect an established integration. We record the checked combination and the checks required after significant updates. Test targets and app credentials also need review so the service does not gradually become an inaccurate picture of an older branch design.
MCI can integrate ThousandEyes with managed Meraki networks or deliver a focused visibility project. The proposal defines supported devices, tests, access and ongoing duties, giving the customer useful extra evidence without overstating the coverage available from the chosen Meraki rollout.
